Lawyer Coaching

Areas of focus:

  • In-house and fractional practice
  • Career planning
  • Role transitions
  • Leadership development
  • Team building

One-to-one lawyer coaching sessions.

My approach is based on my law practice and leadership experience, my ICF-accredited coach training, and my coaching perspective

You decide on your professional goals and the topic for each session.

We explore and clarify your desired outcome.

I guide each session to focus on your chosen goals, topic, and outcome, while remaining attentive to and flexible for the most pressing issues in the moment.

We meet on Zoom or by phone.

Coaching Experiences

Rebecca had a wonderfully calming and empowering approach.  She was grounding and easy to talk to.

She helped me to clearly reflect on and understand where I was and what I wanted, to help me navigate where I wanted to go.

Rebecca guided our session along to help me reflect on what would be a more fulfilling and full path for myself, that was refreshingly away from standardized achievement markers and goals that have fuelled my burnout in the past.

I couldn’t recommend having her support more.  She is compassionate, insightful, precise and passionate about the support she offers.

Rebecca’s executive coaching, executed through creativity and self-expression, always takes me from feeling frustrated and stuck to expansive and excited about my next steps.

Rebecca’s thoughtful, compassionate and strength based approach is world class.

As an executive in a growing business I have been able to see immediate impact as a result of her coaching approach.

I highly recommend connecting with Rebecca to explore coaching.

To describe my coaching sessions in one word would be vulnerability, but in the most gracious and fulfilling manner.

I feel incredibly lucky to be coached by Rebecca as she allows me to navigate my thoughts and tune into my emotions and creativity at a deeper level.

It is a transformative experience to be coached by Rebecca because she listens with intent and her words are sincere.

Rebecca’s coaching brings presence, grounding and space for me to explore what is happening in any and all challenges I bring to my sessions.

She radiates a balance of kindness and focus in a way that is safe, supportive and empowers me to find ways forward.

With her support as my coach, I have shifted careers and how work fits into my overall life. I am more assertive about my needs and boundaries and own my deserving of these.

Since working with Rebecca, I feel my life is rolling forward in the direction I want rather than looping on the same autopilot it was previously.

Group Learning

Areas of focus:

  • Coaching Skills: non-directive coaching tools to develop leadership capacity
  • Client Service: work processes and relational tools to be a trusted advisor
  • Conflict Resolution: identifying sources of conflict and learning to navigate conflict constructively
  • Feedback: feedback tools to facilitate growth
  • Stress Management: identifying signs of stress and applying resources to proactively manage stress at work

CPD sessions that build relational skills.

Gain knowledge, practice new skills, reflect and discuss, and leave with useful tools for work.

Group learning sessions are based on my coaching training applied to my in-house legal and leadership experience, including taking the client’s perspective and leveraging cross-functional expertise.

Learning Session Experiences

I really enjoyed the practicality of the coaching skills for people in legal which I have in fact implemented.

I liked the active discussions and the concise information presented.

I thought that the coaching skills exercise was useful and liked doing the real life example in a small group as we did.

This is a very useful tool and one that I will take forward when I face challenges in the future.

The activity was well facilitated.

We got to engage with co-workers and learn what their conflict responses are.

This makes it easier to know how to manage conflicts with them.

Very informative and interactive.

It was interesting to see how our team views conflict differently.

Team Retreats

Your team and me, in team-building, skill-building, and self-building retreats that are customized to your team’s people, mandate, and objectives.

Focuses include:

  • Team connection
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Team vision and strategy
  • Navigating change
  • Stimulating innovation

Are you considering a retreat for your team?  Are you unsure where to start?

Maybe it’s on your (too long) to-do list but it keeps getting bumped to the later category.

Or you want to give this experience to your team, but the budget is already stretched.

Although it takes resources to plan and execute, a retreat with your team can be a valuable investment in your people.

When done right, a retreat supports:

  • Effective collaboration with other team members,  colleagues, and clients.  Not just good individual work.
  • Employee engagement at the people, process, and purpose levels.  Not just retention.
  • Contributions of value for clients, colleagues, and the organization.  Not just checking things off the list.

In facilitating team retreats, I draw on my in-house counsel experience, my coaching education and practice, and my dedication to providing service of value.

As facilitator, I invite your team to:

  • Connect with and get to know each other as people.
  • Focus on past successes, current challenges, and future opportunities.
  • Create thoughtful action plans for enjoying your work together and contributing value.

My team retreat services range from DIY to OYP (off your plate!).  With budget constraints, we get creative.

If you are considering a retreat for your team, please feel free to get in touch for a confidential free consultation.

🗓️  Lead time is involved to book people (including you!) and places.  I recommend thinking 8+ months ahead if you’re considering a retreat with your team and an external facilitator.  I facilitate a very limited number of retreats each year, so if I am not available, I am happy to refer you to trusted colleagues.

Team Retreat Experiences

Rebecca was extremely well prepared and organised.

The retreat had the right level of detail while also allowing participants time to discuss in greater detail particular areas/topics.

Rebecca was very flexible in her approach, adjusting to the needs of the group while also ensuring the group remained focused.

Through Rebecca’s open questions and positive demeanor it encouraged all attendees to participate.

It appeared to me that everyone felt comfortable sharing at different times throughout the retreat.

I would certainly recommend Rebecca to other teams/companies looking to hold a similar retreat.

Rebecca did an excellent job facilitating.

She is a great coach and kept the team engaged and on topic.

It created the team spirit.

Really good to be able to spend time together as a group.

Great sessions – the variety keeps the interest level up.

I also like that you were able to adapt the schedule on the go.

I believe that all of the exercises presented were of value to the team.

It created an environment for thought and discussion.

I found the time management was really well managed.

Rebecca was very helpful and very informative.

Rebecca kept everyone on track.

Excellent facilitator with regular check in on breakout sessions and was very clear on the objectives of the conference.

Rebecca was an excellent facilitator, ensuring the conference ran according to the schedule, and had great intuition to prompt further discussion amongst the group when needed.

Rebecca does a good job of trying to ensure broad based participation by the conference attendees.

Rebecca facilitated the conference extremely well.

Rebecca ensured that each presenter was made aware of the allocated time and Rebecca managed it respectively.

Rebecca was able to draw out group discussions with open questions and allowed the discussion to be held an appropriate level consistent with the overall conference’s objective.
